Evan Spiegel Thought He Had 'No Chance' with Miranda Kerr

Billionaire Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel has admitted that he initially believed he had 'no chance' with Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr when they first met. The 35-year-old tech mogul, who married Kerr in 2017 after two years of dating, recently opened up about his initial reluctance to pursue her due to fear of rejection.

First Impressions and a Slow Start

Speaking on the Tiger Sisters podcast, Spiegel said: 'The spark was definitely there, but I thought I had no chance. I was like, "I really don't want to get heartbroken here."' He recounted sending Kerr a message to introduce himself and waiting an entire month for a reply. 'She messaged me and I was like, "Okay, maybe I really do have a chance." Our first date was at a yoga class. We are really going down memory lane here,' he added.

Navigating Public Life

Spiegel praised Kerr for helping him adjust to life in the public eye. 'One of the things that was so helpful was that she had grown up in the public eye from a young age. So, she was so used to the pressure, scrutiny and everything that goes along with that,' he said. 'It was so incredible to see her grace and poise in all these wild public situations.'

A Wedding Anniversary Celebration

On Thursday, Kerr marked the couple's nine-year wedding anniversary by sharing a heartfelt throwback photo on social media, showing the pair embracing tenderly. 'Nine years married to my love,' she captioned the image, adding a love heart emoji.

The Secret to Their Successful Marriage

In a previous interview with Stellar magazine in March last year, Kerr revealed the key to their lasting relationship. 'I learn from him, he learns from me. We really do balance each other. We've been together for years and he's my favourite person,' she said. She emphasised their commitment to family: 'He's such a family man. We prioritise each other and family time. That's why when you see us on the red carpet, everyone was like, "Wow, Miranda, you're out?" Honestly, Evan and I prefer to stay in. But every now and then, Mum and Dad have to get out, too.'

Family Life

Spiegel and Kerr tied the knot in 2017 in an intimate ceremony with just 45 guests. They share three sons: Hart, seven; Myles, six; and Pierre, one. Kerr also has a 14-year-old son, Flynn, from her previous marriage to actor Orlando Bloom. The Sydney-born model rose to fame at age 13 after winning a Dolly Magazine modelling competition and later became Australia's first Victoria's Secret Angel in 2007.
