Emmerdale's Serena Sugden 'Sealed' as Undercover Journalist After Clue
Emmerdale's Serena Sugden 'Sealed' as Undercover Journalist

Emmerdale newcomer Serena Sugden may have her true identity 'sealed' after a clue in recent episodes, as fans are convinced she is an undercover journalist. Serena, played by Casey Al-Shaqsy, first appeared on the ITV soap last month as part of the Sugden family—granddaughter of Robert Sugden's father Jack's cousin. She arrived homeless and unemployed, seeking help from her relatives. Sarah Sugden took her in, and Charity Dingle gave her a job as a barmaid at The Woolpack after Serena opened up about her difficulties.

Serena's Suspicious Questions

However, Serena has been arousing suspicion in recent episodes by digging for details about her late serial killer cousin John Sugden and his victim Nate Robinson. In Friday's episode, while serving Moira Dingle at the pub, Serena again probed about Nate. Moira grew defensive and left without answering, declining to respond to her interrogation.

Fan Theories on Social Media

Viewers took to social media to share theories. One commented: "I think Serena is a journalist!" Another replied: "She's asking an awful lot of questions and how did she know about what happened to Nate?" A third posted: "She doesn't stop asking questions think she has a ulterior motive!" Another added: "She's definitely able to turn her hand at a lot of things which a journalist would be able to so that they could go places undercover." A fellow fan responded: "Yes she is too interested in John Sugden deffo Reporter or writing a book about him."
