Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has been flooded with messages of support from her castmates after her final scenes aired in the long-running show after eight years. There were heartbreaking scenes in the ITV soap, which is filmed in Leeds, as the actress's character, Dawn Fletcher, died hours after giving birth to her and Joe Tate's first child together.
Wedding Day Disaster
As Emmerdale viewers know, disaster struck on what should have been Dawn and Joe's wedding day, when Jimmy King suddenly crashed into the marquee where the couple were set to say 'I do', sending debris flying and throwing the celebrations into complete chaos. Tragically, Jimmy died at the scene, with his wife, Nicola, seen saying a gut-wrenching goodbye after she found the devastating scene while heading to a picnic with her husband. She and Dawn then managed to escape the marquee when an explosion occurred, leaving Joe for dead inside.
Thankfully, Joe survived, but Dawn went into premature labour. She went on to give birth to a baby boy, and she and Joe were looking ahead to a new chapter, with Joe seemingly forgiving Dawn for planning to leave him, after her ex-husband, Billy Fletcher, lied about Joe being the one who attacked him, leaving him for dead.
Heartbreaking Final Scenes
But as seen during Sunday's (August 30) episode of Emmerdale, their life together was tragically cut short when Joe returned to Dawn's hospital room to find she was unresponsive. Despite the hospital staff's desperate efforts to save her, Joe was told that Dawn had suffered a significant haemorrhage, causing her heart to stop, and that there was nothing more they could do to save her.
Following the scenes, Olivia's co-stars were sharing tributes on social media as she marked the end of her time in the Dales, after making her debut back in 2018, at the time for just 12 episodes.

Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton in Emmerdale, said: "So sad to say goodbye to Dawn (@oliviabromley_ _) Although Lewis and Dawn didn’t get to interact much on screen, behind the scenes I gained a friend for life - and for that, I’ll always be so grateful. I’m so incredibly proud of you and everything you’ve achieved. You’re such a beautiful person inside and out, and I feel so lucky to have met you. Love you lots. You’ll be missed more than you know!"
Lisa Riley, who is famed for playing Mandy Dingle in the Dales, also shared: "You are just wonderful both inside and out-over the years it’s been so brilliant getting to know you—-you are going to FLY. Our industry is blessed to have you-sincere to your core-love ya babes @oliviabromley_ @emmerdale."
Natalie Ann Jamieson, who played Amy Wyatt in the soap until the character's tragic death last year, also paid tribute. "Can’t believe we’re saying goodbye to Dawny, the village won’t be the same without her - but Amy will be happy to have a friend in the sky," she said. "@oliviabromley_ you are a superstar - you have smashed this last week. I feel so lucky Emmerdale brought us together. From that first date over steak to helping me stand up straight in front of the paps. Two Glasto’s, Belfast, Montenegro and a whole Covid in our bubble. Too many incredible memories to mention. I bloody love you and we are so happy we get to forever have a little Livvy in our lives."
