Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley has broken her silence on reports that her co-star and on-screen son Bradley Johnson is leaving the ITV soap, stating that the exit has not been 'confirmed'. Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle, addressed the speculation at the TRIC Awards, telling the Daily Express: 'That's not confirmed! I don't know where that's come from! I can't confirm nor deny. He's my dream. We are like family. We're so close.'
Speculation Surrounding Bradley Johnson's Departure
Earlier this year, news emerged that Bradley Johnson, who portrays Vinny Dingle, is allegedly departing the show. However, Emmerdale has not officially confirmed his exit, leaving fans to speculate. The mother-son duo, Mandy and Vinny, have been a beloved part of the soap, especially after facing a major hurdle when Tina Dingle (Samantha Powers) returned to the village and was revealed as Vinny's biological mother. Vinny had to navigate complex emotions around this revelation and decide whether to pursue a relationship with Tina.
Lisa Riley Teases Mandy's Future Storylines
Riley also hinted at what lies ahead for Mandy, confirming she won't be leaving the show anytime soon. 'Mandy is not happy with Kev. She can spot a rogue a mile off, can't she? Watch out Kev, the smother mother might be coming out. Then again, with Kev, over time, they could grow closer,' she said. Kev Townsend, played by Chris Coghill, recently returned and is the biological father of Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches). This new dynamic could affect Lewis's relationship with Vinny, who may be reminded of his violent father Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale).
Other Emmerdale Exits Expected in 2026
Rumors suggest that several other Emmerdale stars are also leaving before the end of 2026, including Olivia Bromley (Dawn Taylor) and Nick Miles (Jimmy King), who is reportedly set to be killed off. Additionally, Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) will soon air her final scenes after a flashforward confirmed her murder by an unknown assailant.
