Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has been seen showing off his dance moves ahead of making his Strictly Come Dancing debut this September. The actor, best known for playing Mackenzie Boyd in the ITV soap filmed in Leeds, is among the 15 celebrities set to take part in the BBC One dance contest this year.
Strictly Come Dancing lineup
He will take to the ballroom floor when the programme returns to screens next month, with other names including EastEnders actress Lacey Turner, singer Delta Goodrem, Man City legend Shaun Wright-Phillips, and Gavin & Stacey favourite Melanie Walters.
Speaking about his upcoming Strictly appearance in a statement during his casting announcement, Lawrence said: "I don't know who’s more excited about this, me or my Mother. I can't quite believe that I am going to be getting my dancing shoes on this September on one of my favourite shows of all time!"
He added: "It's a dream come true, and I can't wait to bring my all to ballroom. Wish me luck, and any advice is very welcome - trust me I’ll need it!"
Co-star support and TikTok rehearsals
But Lawrence's Emmerdale co-star Bradley Riches has already been getting him in the dancing spirit, by enlisting his help in some viral TikTok routines. The actor, who plays Lewis Barton in the long-running soap, has now shared a previously unposed clip of Lawrence's moves in action.
Dancing to Sabrina Carpenter alongside fellow Emmerdale star Katie Hill, who plays Sarah Sugden in the programme, Bradley captioned the post: "Forgot I recorded us rehearsing this song… I hope your strictly partner is less strict than me @Lawrence Robb."
He added: "LOVE YOU! Go smash it. Me and @Sabrina Carpenter and @Katie Hill will be in the audience," and it didn't take long for the comments to come flooding in.
One said: "Bring on strictly with the dancing farmer." Another commented: "Can’t wait to see Laurence in Strictly. I know he will go a long way." A third laughed: "Good to see @Lawrence Robb getting the strictly practice in." Another fan added: "Love Lawrence, can't wait for Strictly."
