Emmerdale fans are predicting that Joe Tate could start an affair with Gabby Thomas after his wedding to Dawn Fletcher, who is planning to escape with her ex-husband Billy.
Joe prepares for wedding as Dawn plans escape
Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous, is getting ready to marry his fiancée Dawn Fletcher, portrayed by Olivia Bromley. However, Dawn is secretly planning to leave him with her ex-husband Billy, played by Jay Kontzle.
This is because Caleb, played by Will Ash, and Ruby Miligan, played by Beth Cordingly, made them believe that Joe was responsible for attacking Billy at the depot, when it was actually Kev Barton, played by Chris Coghill. Billy has since learned the truth, but he has yet to tell Dawn.
Dawn's escape plan hits complications
Last week, Caleb and Ruby warned Billy that they would only give his family their passports to leave on the morning of the wedding. The big day has arrived, and it remains to be seen whether Dawn and Billy's plan will go ahead.
During the latest episode on Monday, August 24, now streaming on ITVX, Dawn began to worry that Kim Tate's return, played by Claire King, would make her escape harder. Despite Kim's kindness deepening her guilt, Dawn forced herself to use her dad Will's memory to get her step-mum out of the way in order to escape.
Fans spot chemistry between Joe and Gabby
Later, Graham caught Dawn packing her suitcases in the car at Home Farm. "I have to go, before this love completely destroys me," a tearful Dawn explained. "But this, this is what cowards do," a stunned Graham replied. He then questioned how Billy would have seen Joe attack him from behind, something that hung heavy for Dawn. Despite her doubts, Dawn hit Graham over the head with a shovel before driving away from Home Farm.
Now, a number of Emmerdale fans believe they have uncovered a shock new romance for Joe after the wedding. Many viewers are convinced that he could begin an affair with Gabby Thomas, played by Rosie Bentham, after noticing tension between the pair last week.
"Thought Gabby & Joe had chemistry in their scenes tonight," one person wrote on Reddit, with another adding: "Maybe they're planning on getting them together after the wedding." A third said: "When Dawn leaves, Joe & Gabby would be a perfect couple imo. I feel like Gabby would actually challenge Joe more than Dawn ever did... And idk about you, but Gabby definitely fancies Joe. Escpecially with the whole Ross & Billy fiasco recently lol."
Someone else noted: "I actually did think they had chemistry the other day at the stag do," while another shared: "They would actually be great together." A sixth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: "Joe & Gabby can totally see this happening, well it looks like it's gonna go this way."
