Emmerdale viewers have been left stunned after recognising Dr Todd star Caroline Harker in an iconic 1990s programme. Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) has been stirring up considerable drama in the village of late. Initially, she made medical student Jacob Sugden's (Joe-Warren Plant) professional life utterly miserable. Not only did she drive him to breaking point, but she also manipulated him, berating him over his errors.
Dr Todd's Reign of Terror
Dr Todd subsequently shifted her focus to Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and subjected her to weeks of blackmail concerning the real parentage of Leyla Sugden. The wicked doctor extorted £100,000 from the Woolpack co-owner, leaving Charity feeling utterly helpless. Then, matters took a deeply disturbing turn when Dr Todd sexually assaulted Charity. While she was reported to the police, they lacked sufficient evidence to detain her, according to the Mirror.
Shocking Flash-Forward
However, recently, at the conclusion of an episode, a flash-forward sequence was broadcast, revealing Dr Todd collapsed on the floor in a pool of blood, suggesting someone had murdered the villain.
Caroline Harker's Previous Roles
As for actress Caroline Harker, she is certainly familiar with television work. Her previous roles include ITV dramas Joan, Harry Enfield and Chums, Holding On, and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. She has also featured on rival soap Coronation Street as defence barrister Alicia Davenport back in 2012. The actress appeared during the trial of Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel) for the rape of Carla Connor (Alison King).
A Touch of Frost Discovery
However, it is her role in the crime drama series A Touch of Frost that has recently sparked discussion amongst fans. Caroline portrayed Hazel in the programme, which aired from 1992 until its cancellation in 2010. Responding to a photograph of Caroline and her Emmerdale co-star Zoe Henry from A Touch of Frost, one viewer commented on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page: "That's where I recognise Todd from it's been baffling me." Another person remarked: "Wow, she looks so different now." A third contributed: "Caroline Harker was great in Touch of Frost!" A further fan posted: "Still a pair of beauties."
