Another Emmerdale star has been axed from the ITV soap after 17 years on the show. Jack Downham, 24, who has played Noah Dingle since childhood, is the latest cast member to leave, following news that four other actors are also departing.
Noah's Final Storyline
Noah's final storyline in the Dales will see him ponder what he wants his future to look like. According to Metro, he will tell Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) that he is considering applying for jobs abroad. A career overseas would give Noah the chance to experience life beyond the village while leaving the door open for a future return, as there is currently no indication the character is being killed off.
Other Cast Exits
Earlier this year, it was reported that Olivia Bromley is leaving her role as Dawn Taylor. Alongside her and Jack Downham, Bradley Johnson (Vinny Dingle) and Nick Miles (Jimmy King) are also saying goodbye to the show. Additionally, a flashforward sequence that recently aired confirmed Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) will be murdered by a member of the village.
Noah's Dramatic History
Son to Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Noah has endured his fair share of drama over the years. In 2022, the youngster was sentenced to three months in a juvenile detention centre for stalking and harassing ex-girlfriend Chloe Harris.
Last year, Noah believed he was to blame for the tragic limo crash that took place in February. Charity was driving the vehicle, but had to swerve when she spotted a drugged Noah staggering in the middle of the road. She crashed the limo on a frozen lake, forcing everyone in the car to carefully walk across to safe ground. Sadly, not everyone made it out alive. The limo crash saw the deaths of Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson). In the aftermath, Noah spent time convinced that he was the reason the three women died.
It was eventually revealed that Noah's brother Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was actually to blame. At the time, Joe was in need of a kidney transplant, but went about finding a donor in a very dark way. Joe drugged his brother Noah and took him to a private hospital. Dodgy surgeon Doctor Crowley tested Noah's blood against Joe's, but discovered he wasn't a match. With Noah being basically useless to him at that time, Joe dumped him at the side of the road. In his disorientated state, Noah wandered in front of the limo that was being driven by his mum.
