Emma Willis appeared live on The One Show on Thursday, August 20, alongside her husband Matt, and let slip a Strictly Come Dancing spoiler that left hosts Clara Amfo and Roman Kemp stunned.
New Hosts for Strictly
The hit BBC dancing competition is set to return to screens next month with lots of new changes. Following Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman's departures, the BBC confirmed that The Voice UK host Emma would be taking control of proceedings, alongside comedian Josh Widdecombe and professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
Emma also recently announced that former contestant Ellie Taylor would be taking over Strictly's spin-off, It Takes Two. "I'm absolutely over the moon," Ellie told Emma live on BBC Radio 2. "I feel giddy! It's so nice to get the secret out though!"
Emma's Dance Rehearsals Tease
During her appearance on The One Show, Emma spoke to Clara Amfo and Roman Kemp about Love Is Blind and the upcoming series of Strictly. "Speaking of jobs, Emma, Strictly, [which is] back in autumn. Presenting with your brand-new TV husbands, Josh Widdecombe and Johannes Radebe," Roman said. "How are you settling in?"
Emma replied: "Do you know what, great. For the last week, we've been spending loads of time together." She then dropped a major teaser ahead of the upcoming Strictly launch show, which is set to be filmed on Wednesday, September 9, ahead of the episode airing on Saturday, September 19. "Today, actually, I've been in dance rehearsals," Emma said, teasing that viewers will see some of her own fancy footwork in the launch show, as Clara and Roman both looked on in shock.
Reactions and Cast Line-Up
Emma quickly began laughing at the hosts' reactions, adding: "Look at your faces! That's all I can say. Wait for the launch show. It's gonna be fun. It's been great. I'm hugely honoured to be part of it." An excited Clara then noted: "You three are going to be fab!"
Gavin and Stacey star Melanie Walters completed the 2026 cast last week. She will be accompanied by Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton, Cach Mercer, Will Best, Dame Sarah Storey, and Jaime Winstone. The line-up is rounded out by Bethany Antonia, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Graeme Hall, Lawrence Robb, Tabby Stoecker, and John Nellis. Strictly Come Dancing returns to the BBC in September, while The One Show airs weeknights on BBC One at 7pm.
