Emma Willis reveals 50th birthday party aftermath after partying with celebrity friends

Emma Willis has given fans a glimpse of the reality of her 50th birthday celebrations, sharing photos from her star-studded party as well as the less glamorous aftermath. The presenter, who turned 50 last month, posted a series of snaps from the event at Old Sessions House in London, which reportedly costs around £25,000 to hire exclusively.

The party featured a live karaoke band, with Emma's husband Matt Willis, Busted star, taking to the microphone alongside celebrity pals Rylan Clark and Dermot O'Leary. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Emma thanked Matt for his 'exceptional party planning skills' and said she was 'eternally grateful' to have all her favourite people in one room.

However, Emma also shared the candid reality of how the night ended, posting a photo of herself with her head over the toilet. Alongside the picture, she wrote: 'How it ended,' contrasting with a previous snap of her beaming as she entered the venue in a red tartan mini dress, captioned 'How it started.'

The celebration comes after a challenging year for Emma, who discovered she had a hole in her heart during a routine health check last January. The condition, an atrial septal defect, was closed during a keyhole operation at Royal Brompton Hospital two months later. Emma recently said she was 'floored' by the diagnosis.

Emma, who joins BBC Radio 2 this Saturday with a new afternoon show, expressed her excitement about turning 50 on the day, writing: 'I'm finally in the club! And I'm f*^king excited. Time to dye my hair orange…'
