Emma Corrin turned heads at Schiaparelli's Paris Couture Week show on Monday with a theatrical feathered jacket featuring pointed structures on the chest that resembled nipples, horns, or talons. The actor, known for roles in The Crown and Nosferatu, wore the creation by creative director Daniel Roseberry to the front row, where the garment's padded shoulders, high collar, and multi-coloured plumage drew immediate attention.
Jacket Design Sparks Online Debate
The jacket's most striking feature was two sharply pointed protrusions emerging from the front, described by observers as "aggressively aerodynamic nipples." Matching structures appeared on the back, completing a feathered tail that gave Corrin the appearance of being ready for flight. The collar rose so high it covered the actor's ears, shaped like small wings protecting the neck.
Social media reactions ranged from admiration to bewilderment. Stylist Juliet Cuerden predicted future nostalgia for this Schiaparelli era, comparing it to John Galliano's tenure at Dior. Others were less impressed, with commenters calling the piece "hideous" and evoking Hieronymus Bosch in their critiques.
Corrin's Busy Week
The appearance came just two days after Corrin was spotted at Wimbledon, where the large feathered collar would likely have obstructed views. Later this year, Corrin will star as Lizzie Bennet in Netflix's Pride and Prejudice adaptation. The Schiaparelli show also featured a dress worn by Zendaya at The Odyssey world premiere in London, flown in from Paris Fashion Week that morning by stylist Law Roach.
