Emily Atack sported a figure-hugging bodysuit as she gave her followers a glimpse inside the “dream” countryside home she left London for earlier this year. The star moved to Bedfordshire with her fiancé, Alistair Garner, and their two-year-old son, Barney.
A look inside Emily's new home
The family are now living in a picturesque village in a quaint yet spacious retreat with characterful features like hardwood flooring, expansive traditional sash windows, exposed brick walls, and wooden panelling.
In a recent post to her Instagram stories, Emily shared an update on her hallway which features a turned staircase painted in a rich burgundy shade and is complemented by a thick and cosy stair runner.
The lower half of the walls have been kitted out in tongue-and-groove panelling in a warm, milky-white shade. The upper half of the walls are adorned with a trailing ivy-print wallpaper, bringing a touch of the outside countryside into the home.
Emily's stylish look
In the image shared online, The Inbetweeners alum was standing on the tiled floor at the bottom of the stairs. She cut a svelte figure in a short, black unitard with chunky white straps peeking out from beneath.
The actress and comedian kept her famous blonde locks in a loose braid which fell over one shoulder, with a pair of black sunglasses on top of her head. She complemented her burgundy staircase with a pair of trainers in a similar hue.
In text written over the top of the image, Emily penned: “Particularly loving this area of the house at the moment and all the colours. I smile every time I look at these tiles from Original Style.”
Career and body image struggles
Emily first shot to fame playing the role of Charlotte Hinchcliffe on the smash hit E4 comedy series The Inbetweeners, which originally aired from 2008 until 2010.
Emily has been open about the significant - and often unwanted - attention she received about her looks after she starred on the show, as well as the commentary she’s continued to receive about her size and weight over the course of her career.
She did enjoy some respite from the scrutiny when she was pregnant with her son but, sadly, it didn’t last.
In November 2024, The Rivals star appeared on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast where she discussed the freedom she felt in her body during pregnancy.
She explained: “There’s something quite liberating about having a baby. Your body goes through so much and you genuinely look at your body as a completely different vessel.
“Being pregnant and being desexualised, looking at your body, you create a human inside you, then you give birth to your child - which, by the way, is mental - you get home and the first thing people say to you is, ‘When are you going to get back in the gym?’”
Emily continued: “Are you kidding? I’ve just created a human, I am exhausted! I’ve just tried to push a human out of me and had it ripped out of my stomach.
“The last thing I want to do is go to the gym but the first thing you’re expected to do is get back into shape.
“Where’s the ‘congratulations for being a mother?’ Instead, it’s ‘when are you going to get the baby weight off?’”
At the time, Emily revealed she had “put on more weight since giving birth” but wasn’t feeling any pressure to rush back to the gym, choosing to just “enjoy” the post-birth baby bubble.
