Emily Atack has married Alistair Garner. The 36-year-old actress, known for The Inbetweeners and Rivals, wore a plunging white wedding dress for the ceremony. She announced her engagement to the scientist last July. The couple, who share a child, are also expected to hold a second ceremony in Spain lasting three days.
Instagram snaps and McFlurry van
Emily shared photos from the day on Instagram, where guests were treated to a personalised McDonald's McFlurry ice cream van. She captioned a picture of the van: "We won't be getting over this in a Flurry @MCDonaldsUK."
The dress was a Juliette-styled white gown designed by Avenue by Josephine Scott in collaboration with Evelie Bridal. It featured "statement sleeves and a striking keyhole back".
'Absolutely perfect' day
Avenue CEO Josephine Parkhill said: "Working with Emily and Caroline was incredibly special. JULIETTE already has such a distinctive silhouette, and together we were able to make thoughtful changes that gave the gown a very personal feel for Emily."
Emily was seen beaming and sticking out her tongue as she celebrated. Dr Alistair Garner smiled in a dark tux. Captioning her Instagram photos, Emily wrote: "Yesterday we officially got married among close family and friends. It was absolutely perfect. I can’t believe we get to do all that again in a few weeks time. Christ, we have fun don’t we."
Family and future plans
Emily's cousin and makeup artist Lydia Barnes posted behind-the-scenes snaps, writing: "Getting to do @emilyatack‘s makeup on her wedding day was such an honour. Not just my client, but my cousin and one of my best friends. So happy for you."
Emily had previously told Luxury London Magazine: "I think I’ve nailed it. We’re getting married in September. I’ve very much enjoyed the planning process." She added: "Choosing napkins and stuff. I’m like, ”My God, my life is here!"
A source told The Sun: "Emily has been going to Spain with her family on holiday ever since she was a child and loves the idea of getting married there. She and Alistair adore the stunning countryside there, and guaranteed sun is a bonus. They love the idea of friends and family joining them."
