Dog House star Elisha Duffy's off-screen life: acting and BAFTAs
Elisha Duffy: Dog House star's acting career and BAFTAs

Elisha Duffy has become a familiar face on TV as the sunny and charismatic receptionist at Woodgreen Pets Charity, the home of Channel 4's The Dog House. The 29-year-old from Manchester, now based in Wigan, has been a key cast member and fan favourite on the show since 2019.

When she isn't filming, the trained performer continues to work towards an acting career. Duffy has modelled in the past, appeared in commercials and short films, and taken on background roles in shows including Brassic and Coronation Street. She has also taken to the stage, appearing in pantomimes, most recently in a Christmas production of Beauty & the Beast.

From Nando's to the Dog House

Before joining The Dog House in 2019, Duffy worked on the door at her local Nando's restaurant. She applied for the programme and auditioned with a self-tape, landing the job.

Red carpet and social media

Duffy has built a following on social media, with 11k followers on Instagram and 35k on TikTok, where she regularly posts about The Dog House. In 2022, she attended the BAFTAs as the show was nominated for an award. Reflecting on the moment in 2023, she wrote: "Still can't believe this time last year I would have been at the Baftas, genuinely [the] best day of my life to date."

In a more recent post shared in May, Duffy gave fans an update, revealing that she and the rest of the cast had been busy shooting new episodes. Accompanying a group photo, she wrote "Over and out."
