Eddie the Eagle Makes Surprise Appearance on Location, Location, Location

Viewers of Channel 4's Location, Location, Location were stunned to see Olympic legend Eddie the Eagle appear on a recent episode. The 62-year-old former ski jumper, whose real name is Michael Edwards, featured alongside his wife Karen as they searched for their dream home.

The couple had already viewed over 100 properties privately but were unsuccessful. They wanted to avoid a 90-minute commute between their two homes. Enlisting property expert Phil Spencer, they gave him a budget of £425,000, with the option to increase it by £25,000. The search took place across Berkshire and Hampshire.

Speaking before the hunt, Edwards said: 'It's just a long, long distant memory, it was 37 years ago. So it’s been a long long time. But I still remember it very fondly.' He added that he thought Phil had 'the toughest job in the world trying to find a property.'

Fans expressed their shock on social media. One X user wrote: 'Just tuned into #locationlocationlocation and shouted to my wife, “That guy is the spitting image of Eddie the Eagle!” Her response was, “Who?” Anyway, the reason it looks like him is because it is indeed Eddie the Eagle!' Another said: 'Wait. Eddie the Eagle’s name is actually Michael?! Shut the front door.'

Despite Phil's efforts, the search was unsuccessful, but the couple vowed to continue and may expand their search area. Phil Spencer was recently awarded an MBE for his work as patron of charity St Mungo's.
