David Rapp, the son of late EastEnders actor Derek Martin, has died just days after his father's passing. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
David worked as a booker for the BBB Talent Agency, collaborating with major organisations including the BBC, Channel 4, Pixar and Sony. In a statement, BBB said: 'Devastating news today. Just after losing his father, David has also passed away. The gentle giant whose heart was as big as he was. I couldn’t have wished for a better friend or workmate.'
Derek Martin, best known for playing Charlie Slater on EastEnders, died on 10th January 2026 at the age of 90. His sons David and Jonathan had issued a joint statement following his death, describing him as 'a friend' who 'supported us through our highs and lows'.
An EastEnders spokesperson paid tribute, saying: 'From the moment he arrived, Derek's portrayal of Charlie Slater instantly cemented him in the hearts of the audience, as the head of one of EastEnders' most iconic families.'
Derek Martin began his career as a stuntman on Doctor Who before switching to acting after breaking his collarbone while filming Elizabeth R. He is survived by his son Jonathan.
