Eamonn Holmes and his girlfriend Katie Alexander made their first red carpet appearance together on Saturday, despite reports that the honeymoon phase of their relationship has ended. The couple attended the This Is Icon Awards at the Troxy in east London, where Holmes received a lifetime achievement award.
The 65-year-old broadcaster, who has faced health issues since spinal surgery in 2022, used an electric wheelchair at the event. He wore a black suit with a white polka dot tie, while Katie Alexander, 43, opted for a tailored black blazer and a floor-length sheer skirt. The marriage counsellor completed her look with a black scarf.
Their outing comes after sources told the Daily Mail that the romance is 'struggling', with one friend saying: 'Let's just say the honeymoon period looks like it is very much at its end.' The friend added that Holmes is 'grumpier than ever' and spending more time with family in Belfast, often without Alexander.
Colleagues at GB News described Holmes as 'very, very moany', with one saying he is 'a miserable goat even on a good day'. The source said: 'He goes into GB News in the morning, and he moans and moans. It seems to be fizzling out for him.'
Holmes and his ex-wife Ruth Langsford announced their divorce a year ago after 27 years together. It is understood that Holmes's youngest son Niall has sided with Ruth, as has their son Jack, while Holmes remains close to his older children Declan and Rebecca.
