Danielle Close, founder of the skincare brand My Skin Feels, secured a £50,000 joint investment from Deborah Meaden and Gary Neville earlier this year. However, her experience off-camera was not what fans might expect.

Audition and Preparation

In a TikTok video posted by her company, Danielle shared the truth about the audition process. She explained that it took her an entire day to perfect her pitch, and the entire audition process spanned three months. The due diligence phase also took months, requiring her to disclose every detail about herself and her business to the BBC.

Self-Funded Set Design

One surprising revelation was that contestants are responsible for purchasing items to make their set look appealing. Danielle spent around £500 on decorations, which were not reimbursed by the show.

Script Changes and Fake Elements

Danielle disclosed that the script was changed at the last minute, causing mild panic. She also revealed that the iconic lift used in the show is not real, admitting, 'Sorry guys, the lift isn't real.' The most stressful part, she said, was waiting for the doors to open.

Danielle later revealed that she ultimately declined the investment from Gary and Deborah after receiving a more attractive offer from private backers, who came through her psychic mediumship contacts. She told Metro, 'Weirdly, these investors came in through my psychic mediumship contacts, and they just really liked the business.'
