In Barcelona, Spain, a wildfire in the Collserola mountain range sent smoke over the Nou Barris district, forcing some residents to evacuate. In Trishuli Bazar, Nepal, houses in the Nuwakot district were partly submerged in mud after flash floods along a riverside. A tornado in Pomas, France, damaged about 300 homes in the south-western Occitania region.

In New York, US, the Empire State Building was lit up in pink at 9.25pm on Tuesday night to celebrate the life of Dolly Parton, in a nod to her film 9 to 5. Visitors arrived with backpacks for the start of Reading festival in Reading, UK. Revellers lay in tomatoes during the annual La Tomatina fiesta in Buñol, Spain, a village near València. In Kolkata, India, people queued to collect food distributed on the anniversary of Mother Teresa's birth.

In Playas de Tijuana, Mexico, a dead whale was stranded on the beach in Baja California state. The bed of the Kalochori lagoon in Greece, a key wetland for migratory birds, has dried up due to lack of rainfall and extreme heat.

In Kharkiv, Ukraine, a man comforted an elderly woman whose house sustained serious damage from a Russian drone strike. In Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, two girls walked past the rubble of collapsed buildings. In Tyre, Lebanon, smoke rose from the site of a string of Israeli airstrikes targeting the al-Mansouri area.
