Dianne Buswell has addressed her future on Strictly Come Dancing, insisting she hopes to remain on the show despite speculation. The professional dancer, 36, who has been a fixture on the BBC programme since 2017, held a Q&A with followers on Instagram on Thursday while travelling by train.
When asked if this would be her last year on Strictly, Buswell replied: 'I sure hope not!!!!' She also confirmed she has not yet been told which celebrity she will partner for the upcoming series, which returns on September 20. Famous faces signed up this year include Neighbours star Stefan Dennis, footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and rugby player Chris Robshaw.
The Q&A comes after the show was thrown into chaos when former Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn withdrew due to medical reasons. Nairn, who cited stress and grief, said: 'I have to step back... due to unexpected medical reasons.' Soap actor Lewis Cope, known for playing Nicky Miligan in Emmerdale, was announced as his replacement.
Cope said: 'I'm so excited to be swapping the Dales for the dance floor... I've always been a fan of the show and cannot wait to get started!' He only learned of his involvement on Monday. Cope has also appeared in Vera and worked with David Beckham on an advertising campaign.
