Gemma Collins has accused boxer David Haye of fat-shaming her during her time on I'm a Celebrity... All Stars, amid fears she has quit the show. The reality star took to social media to reference the incident after a preview clip showed her in tears, saying, 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here. I am done.'
The alleged fat-shaming occurred when Gemma said, 'We all need to eat tonight,' and David responded, 'You need to eat tonight.' He then questioned her about where she was the previous night and what he ate, leading Gemma to reply, 'You know what, sometimes eating a bit of humble pie makes us stronger and better as people.'
Fans expressed outrage on social media, with one account posting, 'Can someone people tell me how they have let this David wasteman fatshame our Gemma AGAIN??!' This is not the first time Gemma has struggled on the show; she quit after just three days in her original series and had vowed to redeem herself this time.
In recent episodes, Gemma has been seen breaking down, telling campmate Adam Thomas, 'I don't think I can take it.' She later admitted in the Bush Telegraph, 'It's been a difficult day and I don't know why.' She also complained about missing everyday luxuries, saying, 'I can't wash properly. I can't have anything nice.'
Before flying to South Africa, Gemma confessed she was 'absolutely bricking it' and had to be slapped by her make-up artist at Heathrow Airport to calm her nerves. Despite her struggles, she had previously expressed a desire to return, saying she would be 'like Lara Croft and Angelina Jolie rolled into one.'
