David Harbour has finally broken his silence on ex-wife Lily Allen's critically-acclaimed breakup album, West End Girl, describing it as "weird" and insisting the narrative does not reflect his own experience.
Harbour Speaks Out on Lily Allen's Explosive Album
The Stranger Things star, 50, and the singer, 41, separated in late 2024 and confirmed their split in February 2025. Last year, Allen released West End Girl, a record that delves into the collapse of their marriage, with lyrics alleging Harbour was unfaithful and had a three-year affair. Allen has described the lyrics as "a mixture of fact and fiction."
In a recent interview with Variety, Harbour said: "It wasn't my experience. It was weird. I do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that. I can't really say that much more, because it's my private life."
Harbour Values Privacy Amid Public Scrutiny
The actor emphasized his commitment to privacy despite public interest. "In spite of the fact that a lot of people don't allow me a private life - I value it. And I also value the lives of the people that I interact with privately. I just won't speak about that," he said. "Stories are complex, and that's why I say I respect her creation of art to channel her experience. It wasn't my experience."
Allen's Receipt Dress Stirs Controversy
Allen has not shied away from making pointed statements. In March, she performed her track 4Chan Stan wearing a gown made of printed receipts, allegedly documenting purchases Harbour made for other women. The dress included receipts from tequila bars and Bergdorf Goodman, referencing her lyric: "Never been Bergdorf's, but you took someone shopping there on May 24. You bought her a handbag. It wasn't cheap. I was in London. Probably asleep."
Post-Divorce Relationships
Allen is now dating Jonah Freud, 12 years her junior, and the couple were recently spotted on a romantic getaway in Rome. Harbour has been linked to Ellie Beers Fallon. The pair originally met on the celebrity dating app Raya and married in Las Vegas in 2020.
