A parent has shared a story about an entitled dad who made a five-word demand when they took their daughter to the cinema, leaving them furious. The incident, which occurred before seat allocation was common in theaters, has sparked a wave of support online.
The Demand
Writing on Reddit, the parent explained that they arrived early with their school-aged daughter to see a Lord of the Rings movie. They picked the best seats, towards the back and in the centre, as the cinema was not very full.
Suddenly, a group of two dads and four children entered. One dad asked, "Can you both move so we can sit there?" without any polite preamble. When the parent refused, the man became more aggressive, saying, "You can sit somewhere else."
Standing Firm
The parent stood their ground, replying, "No I arrived here early to get good seats." They added, "I can't believe I have to deal with this nonsense and I am not going to be bullied in front of my daughter."
The situation escalated until the man's friend physically pulled him away. The parent noted that at least one of them was reasonable, though no apology was offered.
