Cruz Beckham's Grand 21st Birthday Celebration
Cruz Beckham, the youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham, celebrated his 21st birthday in spectacular fashion with a lavish party at The Maine in Mayfair. The event, billed as the Grande Beatle Ball in honour of Cruz's musical influences, featured a live Beatles band that had guests dancing into the early hours.
A Night with Favourite People
Cruz shared a series of sweet photos on social media, captioning them 'Incredible night with my favourite people so here’s a dump'. The images showed him beaming alongside his parents, girlfriend Jackie Apostel—who is ten years his senior—and siblings Romeo and Harper. Victoria Beckham was seen throwing up a peach sign in one black-and-white snap, while Cruz enjoyed a cocktail with his 14-year-old sister Harper, who stunned in a black dress.
Emotional Speeches and Family Moments
The evening took an emotional turn when Victoria, Harper, and Jackie took to the stage to deliver a heartwarming speech that moved Cruz to tears. He was spotted breaking down next to his father David as he watched the tribute from the important women in his life. Guests feasted on a New England-themed menu including cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, and fish tacos, while sipping personalised Cruz-themed cocktails.
Musical Performances and Family Dancing
The young musician, whose new single For Your Love was released just days before the celebration, was accompanied by his band The Breakers for a live performance. Later in the evening, Cruz enjoyed a tower of donuts with candles and danced with his grandparents—Victoria's parents Tony and Jackie, and David's mother Sandra along with his aunt Joanne.
Notable Absence of Brooklyn Beckham
However, the celebration was marked by the conspicuous absence of estranged eldest brother Brooklyn Beckham, who has been distancing himself from the family. This follows a pattern of missed family events, including David's 50th birthday celebrations and his investiture at Windsor Castle. Over the weekend, Brooklyn posted a Valentine's Day message to his wife Nicola Peltz declaring 'I will forever protect and love you', in what appeared to be another dig at his family.
Ongoing Family Feud
In January, Brooklyn released a six-page Instagram statement outlining his desire to distance himself from his family, claiming his parents had tried to sabotage his marriage and prioritised public branding over family relationships. 'For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,' he wrote. 'The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.'
Brooklyn alleged that his mother cancelled making Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute and that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name before his wedding. He also claimed Victoria hijacked his first dance with his wife at their wedding, dancing 'very inappropriately' in front of guests. Unlike his siblings, Brooklyn did not appear in Victoria's recent Netflix docuseries and has been building a life in the United States with his wife, the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz.
Despite the ongoing tensions, Cruz's birthday celebration showcased the close bonds he maintains with his immediate family, even as the rift with his older brother continues to make headlines.
