Cruz Beckham has shared a sweet photo of his older brother Brooklyn Beckham, despite his estrangement from the family. Amateur chef Brooklyn, 27, hasn’t spoken to his parents, David and Victoria, or siblings, Cruz, Romeo, and Harper, for over a year, after launching a blistering attack claiming they tried to ‘ruin’ his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz.
Throwback Photo on Instagram
But musician Cruz, 21, has now shared an unexpected olive branch towards his brother in the form of a throwback photo from their childhood. On Sunday, Cruz took to Instagram to share a series of photos from his summer holidays, including some of him with girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30. One snap in the collection caught the eye of fans, which showed Cruz alongside Brooklyn and brother Romeo as children. The photo was simply captured ‘Brothers’ alongside a blue heart emoji.
Background of the Feud
It’s no secret that the family has been embroiled in a tense feud, with Brooklyn airing all the dirty laundry in a lengthy Instagram statement at the start of the year. Prior to the statement, rumours of a rift had been brewing for years – initially sparked around trouble at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in 2022. In the four years since the wedding, the relationship has completely broken down, and Brooklyn has blocked his family members on social media.
In December reports surfaced that Brooklyn had unfollowed his parents. Cruz later clarified on Instagram: ‘They woke up blocked… as did I.’
Anniversary Date Change
Nicola and Brooklyn have also now decided to mark their anniversary date as their wedding vow renewal, which his family were noticeably absent from. A source told The Sun that their initial wedding ‘is not an occasion they look back on fondly’.
‘Nicola ended up in tears. It’s not something they want to be reminded of,’ the insider continued. ‘Their second wedding, where they renewed their vows last August with just her family and their friends, does hold so many happy memories, however. Going forwards, they’ve decided that this is the date they will celebrate publicly together.’
Since his bombshell statement, Brooklyn has instructed his parents to not contact him directly, including on social media, and instead go through his lawyers.
