Coronation Street Christmas Party Marred by Taxi Accident in Manchester
Corrie Stars' Festive Bash Overshadowed by Taxi Incident

The festive spirit at the Coronation Street cast's annual Christmas party was abruptly interrupted on Friday night when two people were knocked down by a taxi just outside the venue in Manchester.

Glamour and Glitz on the Cobbles' Night Out

Stars of the long-running ITV soap opera had gathered for their celebratory drinks at the stylish Refuge Restaurant and Bar. The event saw a host of Weatherfield favourites stepping out in their finest attire. Lucy Fallon and Catherine Tyldesley were among those turning heads, both cutting glamorous figures for the evening.

Tanisha Gorey, who portrays paramedic Asha Alahan, oozed sophistication in a chic black off-the-shoulder dress. Soap legends including Bill Roach, Jack P. Shepherd, and Sally Dynevor were also spotted arriving in high spirits for the bash.

The guest list was a who's who of the cobbles, with Peter Gunn, Georgia Taylor, Alan Halsall, Cherylee Houston, Sam Aston, Mollie Gallagher, Julia Goulding, Farrell Hegarty, Sydney Martin, Pauline McLynn, and Jacob Roberts all making an appearance, boasting big smiles for the cameras.

A Sudden Turn of Events Outside the Venue

However, the celebratory mood was disrupted when an Uber taxi was involved in an accident near the restaurant, resulting in two pedestrians being knocked down. Photographs from the scene show the cab driver leaving his vehicle to check on the injured parties, with passersby quickly scrambling to offer assistance.

An ambulance was promptly called and arrived at the scene to attend to those hurt. A source from within the party later revealed to the Daily Mail that those inside the venue were unaware the accident had taken place just outside. The Daily Mail has contacted a spokesperson for Coronation Street for comment.

Pre-Party Gatherings and Soap Crossover Buzz

Prior to the main event, a group of the show's leading men enjoyed a separate dinner at Manchester's Tyga Bar and Restaurant. Jimmi Harkishin, Simon Gregson, Sam Aston, Alan Halsall, Andy Wymant, and Jack P. Shepherd were all snapped looking cheerful as they headed out for the night.

The party came in the same week that ITV released the explosive first trailer for 'Corriedale', the landmark crossover episode between Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Set to air in early January 2026, the sneak peek has sent soap fans into a frenzy.

The trailer hints at the aftermath of a terrifying crash outside Emmerdale's fictional village of Hotten, featuring a mix of characters from both soaps. Coronation Street's David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) will swap Manchester for the Yorkshire Dales, appearing alongside Emmerdale favourites like Liam Cavanagh and Aaron Dingle.

ITV has promised that the special episode, filming for which began in October, is just the start of major drama, with the crash giving rise to 'fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets, and lies'. The channel has stated that life in both Weatherfield and Emmerdale will never be the same again following this historic television event.
