Cherylee Houston, known for her role as Izzy Armstrong on Coronation Street, has been a beloved figure on the ITV soap since her debut in 2010. Her character, a factory machinist at Underworld, quickly won over fans with her storylines, including a romance with Gary Windass (Mikey North) and a prison stint in 2016.
In a recent episode, Maria (Samia Longchambon) confided in Izzy about her suspicions that Gary is having an affair with Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien). But off-screen, Cherylee's own love life is just as intriguing: she is married to actor Toby Hadoke.
A Shared Career on the Cobbles
Toby Hadoke is no stranger to Coronation Street. He appeared in 2021 as Fergus, a concerned neighbour who protected Izzy during the pandemic. The couple even used a corner of their home as a filming location, enjoying the chance to rehearse lines together. Toby has also appeared in Emmerdale, Shameless, and Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, and runs the XS Malarkey comedy club in Manchester.
Reflecting on working with his wife, Toby said: "She's such a good actor. I think it's forgotten because she's so brilliant at bringing attention to the importance of disability representation."
A Memorable Cameo
This wasn't Toby's first appearance on the cobbles. He previously played a vicar who married Curly Watts. "They wanted a young vicar at Curly Watts' wedding. If you go back it was about 747 years ago. That was just a one-off," he joked.
