Coronation Street's latest episode featured a flashback that revealed how Gary Windass was connected to Theo Silverton's murder on the ITV soap, but fans still doubt he is the killer.
Flashback Reveals Gary at the Scene
During Wednesday's episode, Gary Windass appeared in a flashback that placed him at the scene of the crime. He was shown standing on flat scaffolding, wielding a metal object, possibly from the builder's yard or the scaffolding itself. Looking over the edge, he saw a bleeding and lifeless Theo on the ground. While the soap intends to suggest Gary had just killed Theo, viewers are not convinced.
Fans Believe Gary is a Red Herring
Gary looked surprised to see Theo, as if he was making a discovery rather than having just committed murder. With the killer set to be revealed in late June or early July, many think it is too soon for Gary to be the culprit. The flashback only makes it more obvious that he is a red herring. Fans now theorize that Gary may have witnessed someone else kill Theo and is covering it up.

One popular theory is that Gary is covering for his ex, Sarah Platt, as the two have been acting secretively. Another suggests he might be protecting Theo's partner, Todd. Some fans even speculate that Theo staged his own murder scene before taking his own life.
