Coronation Street fans are certain a soap favourite could be heading back to save Sarah Platt amid her harrowing prison ordeal.
Last month, Sarah was arrested for the murder of evil Theo Silverton (James Cartwright). Sarah (Tina O'Brien) killed abusive Theo in April after she attacked him with a metal pole on top of the scaffolding, sending him falling over the edge and to the ground below.
Despite Sarah’s bent copper boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), attempting to help her get away with the crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo.
Sarah's prison ordeal
At first, she pleaded her innocence, but the evidence was stacked against her and DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) said she had no choice but to charge Sarah with Theo's murder and Sarah has since been sent to prison.
Behind bars though, Sarah befriended inmate Kacey (Emma Matthews), though their relationship soon took a sinister turn. Knowing about Sarah's past relationship with police officer Kit, Kacey exploited this.
She informed Sarah that her son had been arrested for armed robbery and demanded Kit's assistance. When Sarah explained she couldn't approach Kit, Kacey revealed a much darker side.

And in Tuesday’s episode (August 18) Sarah asked Kit to visit her, during which she pleaded for his help to get Kacey’s son off the hook for the robbery. However, Kit refused and later on in her cell, Sarah told Kacey about Kit’s refusal - and Kacey was fuming.
She attacked Sarah and pinned her against the wall, before throwing her on the bed and leaving, while Sarah was left sobbing.
And now, with Sarah going through hell behind bars, fans reckon a prison-bound former cobbles resident could save her.
Fans call for Lou's return
Reacting to a Facebook post about Sarah and Kacey in prison, one person said in the comments section: “Bring back Farrel Hegarty to save the day,” referring to the actress who plays Lou Michaelis.
Someone else agreed: “Yes get her back.” A third chimed in: “I was wondering about her! Who was the last Corrie resident Lou helped in prison?” before someone else explained she helped Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) during her prison stint.
Troublemaker and mum-of-three Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) rocked up to Weatherfield in February 2025 with thug husband Mick (Joe Layton). After moving into Mawdsley Street, it didn’t take the nightmare neighbours long to cause plenty of drama on the famous cobbles.
However, it was revealed that Lou was a victim of domestic abuse, with Mick often acting violently towards his family. Mick then ended up brutally killing soap legend Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) in a shock drunken attack.
Following this, Lou's own shocking actions were exposed when she attacked Gary Windass (Miley North) with a metal pole after he refused to participate in her desperate scheme to extort money from him. Her secret eventually came to light and she was arrested and then sent to prison.
