Coronation Street fans have spotted not one, but two, possible new love interests for Glenda Shuttleworth, and both may take others by surprise. The character, played by Jodie Prenger, debuted on the cobbles in 2022 as the sister of undertaker George Shuttleworth. She soon landed a job at the Rovers Return and last summer was asked to step up as manager until owner Carla Connor could sell the pub after landlady Jenny Connor's exit.
Glenda's Romantic History and New Possibilities
Since arriving in Weatherfield, Glenda has been unlucky in love, with her brief dalliance with Michael Bailey not materializing. Now, fans believe Cassie Plummer's upcoming exit could lead to a romance between Glenda and Steve McDonald. On Reddit, user Time-Connection-4586 said: "I've seen quite a few fans suggest Steve and Glenda as a future pairing, especially with Cassie's exit on the horizon. At first I thought it sounded a bit random, but the more I think about it, the more I reckon the comedic potential would be massive."

This Carl and Glenda pairing has also been mentioned on social media after the pair shared a brief exchange in scenes aired this week, where Glenda referred to Carl, Debbie Webster's son, as a 'scumbag'. It comes after it was confirmed in March that Jodie Prenger will remain on the show until at least 2027. "I've just signed a new contract, so I'm going to be on Corrie for another year," Jodie told the Daily Star. "I always get nervous about whether or not they'll want me to stay, so I was thrilled when I got the offer. I knew straightaway I was going to sign. I love being on the show so I'm thrilled to be staying for another year."
