Coronation Street fans have been left gobsmacked after only just realising that Ryan Connor star Ryan Prescott appeared on rival soap Emmerdale. On Thursday, ITV's Instagram page shared a fun soap crossover post, revealing all the Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars who have appeared on both soaps.
While fans spotted well-known crossover actors such as Claire King (Kim Tate on Emmerdale, Erica Holroyd on Corrie) and Chris Bisson (Jai Sharma in Emmerdale, Vikram Desai in Corrie), viewers were floored to spot a 'forgotten' star. The post included Corrie's Ryan Connor star Ryan Prescott, who played Flynn Buchanan in Emmerdale back in 2011.
During Flynn's time in the village, he briefly dated Aaron Dingle, played by Danny Miller, but Aaron was still not over his ex-boyfriend Jackson Walsh, played by Marc Silcock. Responding in the comments, soap fans were left floored over the discovery, as some had forgotten about Ryan's Emmerdale stint while others hadn't realised about the crossover.
One person said: "Omg I forgot Ryan was in emmerdale!" to which another account replied: "Such a throwback!" Meanwhile, another account put: "Wow x" with a different fan adding shocked emojis. Another fan penned: "The only one I remember being in another soap is Jai!" while a different person added: "Wow that's insane to look at in the Past and the Future."
Coronation Street character Ryan first graced the ITV soap in 2006, with the character initially portrayed by Ben Thompson. Ryan Prescott, 37, took over the role in 2018. As Michelle Connor's (Kym Marsh) son, it wasn't long before Ryan found himself embroiled in various storylines.
In upcoming scenes, Ryan embarks on a date with fellow cobbles dweller Jodie Ramsay (Olivia Frances Brown), who has stirred up considerable trouble since making her soap debut earlier this year. In spoilers for next week, Jodie reveals that she's secured a date. When David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) accidentally mentions he's meeting Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) at the bistro, Jodie hatches a scheme. Jodie meets up with her date, Ryan, at the bistro and when David turns up, Jodie turns on the allure in hopes of sparking David's envy.
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
