Coronation Street fans have not always been Kit Green's biggest supporters, but they are currently worried for the dodgy cop as they think they have rumbled what he is hiding.
As those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, know, Kit arrived in Weatherfield back in 2024 when Bernie Winter went on a mission to find her long-lost son, Zodiac. Eventually, she found her son, who had been renamed Christopher but went by Kit, and he did not at first take too kindly to being tracked down, before eventually softening to the idea of having a loving family with Bernie and sister Gemma Winter-Brown, especially following the death of Gemma's twin, Paul Foreman.
Since then, Kit has discovered he has a son, teenager Brody Michaelis, and he has struck up a romance with Sarah Platt, all while bothering DS Lisa Connor-Swain at Weatherfield nick.
Kit's recent struggles
As Corrie fans know, he is not having the best of times at the moment. He put his job on the line to try to help Sarah after she confessed to being the one who killed abuser Theo Silverton, with her shock confession coming as he tried to pop the question. Sarah has since been arrested and charged with the builder's death, and Kit was warned that if he carried on trying to help and protect her, he was putting his job on the line. Sarah has since dumped him, thinking it is for the best as she faces a long stretch behind bars, but Kit has not been coping well since.
He appears to be drinking more than usual, and he has also not been particularly helpful when it comes to looking after Sarah's teenage son, Harry Platt. Last week, a drunk Kit rejected Jodie Ramsay, telling her to stop following him before returning to his flat to drown his sorrows. He could then be seen deleting a photograph of Sarah from his phone, he dialled a number and left a message to say that he would "be there".
Mystery phone calls spark speculation
He has since been avoiding more mystery phone calls, the latest during Wednesday's (August 19) edition of Corrie. When Bethany Platt questioned if he was going to answer his ringing mobile, Kit brushed it off and said it was 'No Caller ID' and that it was probably someone trying to sell him something. Seemingly distracted, when Brody popped round and asked if he could stay with him as he was moving out of Sally and Tim Metcalfe's home, the teen was left dejected when Kit said it was not a good time, and that maybe his grandmother, Bernie could help him out. It was then later that Kit hesitated to listen to a voicemail he had been left.
His actions have got Corrie fans speculating on social media. @ThomasR14336083 asked: "Who keeps calling Kit? What's the mystery? #Corrie." @sam_Fletcher78 said: "Did anyone else see the name that was ringing Kit on his phone? Wonder if it is a doctor as I think he’s ill #corrie," before adding: "He well be under going tests for MND, he certainly is hiding something personal."
@NatashaLKirxsu replied: "They do that when it's the hospital or a ward. I think it's something to do with. Paul's MND and that's why he's kept quiet. A full name is normally used by medical professionals." @Bo88797665 added: "... I definitely the strange phone calls are medical or something worse. #Corrie."
