Coronation Street fans were left fearful after they thought they spotted a hint about Betsy Swain's future as she was seen preparing to say goodbye to Weatherfield. It's not a secret to those who watch the ITV soap that there are worrying times ahead for the teenager after spoilers for next week's episodes revealed she will be left fighting for her life - and the finger of blame will be quickly pointed at her love interest, Dylan Wilson.
Betsy's Emotional Conversations
The drama comes after having been reminded of the horrific death of her boyfriend, Mason Radcliffe, Betsy emotionally spoke to Dylan about her plans to move forward. She later revealed to her best mate, Lauren Bolton, that she had been offered a place at a fashion college in London. She ended up breaking the news to Dylan, who then advised her to let her mum, Lisa, and her stepmother, Carla Connor-Swain, in on the move.
Eventually, Betsy built up the courage to announce the news, and while Carla was delighted for her Underworld protégé, Lisa was more apprehensive. Despite this, Betsy is still ploughing on with her plans to leave the cobbles and during Friday's (July 10) edition of Corrie, she was seen spending some time with Lauren and her son, Frankie.
Foreshadowing the Danger
As Lauren spoke about how much she and Frankie will miss 'Auntie Betsy' once she moves down south, Betsy momentarily questioned her decision. "It's just dawning on me how mad this all is," she said. "It's scary, innit? And there's gonna be so much coursework. What if I don't have time for Dylan?"
Lauren replied: "What worrying about that for now? Just, you know, try and enjoy the time you have left with him." Betsy then commented: "You're making it sound like I'm on death row," to which Lauren said: "One day at a time, Bets. One day at a time."
