Coronation Street fans are convinced a cancer twist is on the cards for a beloved resident after spotting a clue in recent episodes.
Kit Green's suspicious behaviour
Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) first appeared in 2024, arriving as Bernie Winter's (Jane Hazlegrove) estranged son - and he quickly found himself embroiled in some major storylines.
Currently in the long-running ITV soap, events have taken a dramatic twist for bent copper Kit following his girlfriend Sarah's (Tina O'Brien) arrest for the murder of evil Theo Silverton (James Cartwright). Sarah had killed abusive Theo in April after striking him with a metal pole on scaffolding, causing him to plummet over the edge to the ground below.
In a state of panic, Sarah turned to former flame Gary Windass (Mikey North) to help conceal the crime, but the truth ultimately emerged and she admitted everything to corrupt police officer and boyfriend Kit, reports the Daily Star. Despite his attempts to help her evade justice, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of Theo's killing. Initially, she maintained her innocence, but the evidence mounted against her and DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) stated she had no option but to charge Sarah with Theo's murder, resulting in her imprisonment.
Voicemail clue sparks cancer theory
While incarcerated, Sarah also broke things off with Kit, insisting she won't let him wreck his career on her account, leaving him heartbroken. Yet in recent scenes, Kit has been behaving suspiciously and is evidently concealing something. One instance saw him listening to a voicemail from a woman requesting to speak with him, before securing his phone.
In Wednesday's episode (August 19), his erratic conduct persisted, with the police officer visibly distressed after listening to another voicemail. Seemingly intent on drowning his sorrows, Kit subsequently made his way to a clandestine poker game where he spent freely and drank heavily.
Fans speculate on health twist
Now, viewers believe they've uncovered what Kit is concealing in a shocking health-related twist. Posting on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer wrote: "Do u think Kit is ill.... Something is up for sure." Another chimed in: "I've been wondering the same thing, He's definitely not himself, so I reckon they're building up to something maybe ill or cancer." A third speculated: "Cancer results?" With another echoing the sentiment: "I thought the same, knowing Corrie more sad storylines!"
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
