Coronation Street actor Rob Mallard has reportedly ended his relationship with partner Matthew Martin after almost four years together. The couple, who went public at the British Soap Awards in 2023, have unfollowed each other on Instagram, and Mallard has removed all images of Martin from his social media.
Martin, who appeared on the ITV soap as a policeman, has also deleted all traces of Mallard from his Instagram, leaving only a family picture from March 2024 that includes the actor. Martin played the officer who arrested Cassie Plummer for drugging with intent to harm.
Mallard, who plays Daniel Osborne on Coronation Street, previously dated co-star Daniel Brocklebank for nearly a year before they split in 2018. The actor came out as gay in 2017, saying he never planned to hide his sexuality and was fortunate to have a supportive family.
In 2023, Mallard spoke about his essential tremor, a neurological condition diagnosed at age 14. He described it as worsening over time but said the show's crew work around it, filming shots to hide his hand when necessary.
