A Coronation Street teaser has revealed heartbreak for Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) as Betsy (Sydney Martin) is rushed to hospital. In a promo video ahead of next week's drama on the cobbles, fans can see an ambulance driving away from number six.
Betsy's Collapse and Hospital Dash
It's been a busy year in the Connor-Swain household following their adorable wedding day back in April. But the glorious celebrations soon turned sour when Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) was murdered by Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien). Betsy discovered Theo's dead body, and has struggled to recover from the traumatic night. Meanwhile, there's more drama expected next week as Betsy is rushed to hospital in an ambulance after collapsing at home.
A new ITV promo shows an ambulance driving away from number six and an anxious Carla arriving at hospital to find Lisa at Betsy’s bedside. But what has happened to Betsy? And why does Dylan find himself in the firing line as her condition worsens? All will be revealed as Lisa demands answers and accusations fly, whilst Betsy tries to come to terms with her life-changing diagnosis.
Dylan's Cooking Lesson Leads to Tragedy
In the in-depth spoilers, it seems Betsy is with Dylan hours before the ambulance arrives. After a disastrous attempt at cooking breakfast for Dylan, Betsy asks him for some cooking lessons. Dylan shows Betsy how to make a Bolognese and assures her that they’ll make their long distance relationship work. Betsy smiles and they hug.
Later on, an ambulance pulls away from number six with its siren blaring. At the hospital Ryan explains to Carla how he returned home to find Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor. At Betsy’s bedside a nurse explains to a tearful Lisa that they are taking Betsy for an MRI Scan.
Lisa Blames Dylan as Betsy's Condition Worsens
Dylan arrives to see Betsy but comes running out of the room and tells Lisa and Carla that she seems to be having some kind of fit. Lisa and Carla watch in horror as the doctor tends to Betsy. An upset Betsy begs Lisa not to blame Dylan for what happened. When Sean suggests to Dylan that they go together to visit Betsy, Dylan shuts the conversation down leaving Sean suspicious.
Later in the café, Sean is shocked when a furious Lisa turns on Dylan and blames him for Betsy’s collapse. Lisa calls at the station and tells the desk sergeant she’d like to report a crime. Elsewhere, Dylan says that he believes Brody was responsible for what happened to Betsy. How will Betsy and Brody react when they hear what Dylan is saying?
