Coleen Nolan's daughter Ciara has revealed what she really thinks about her mother's new romance, while also disclosing a major decision the couple have already made. Earlier this month, the Loose Women panellist confirmed she is dating again after her children, Ciara and Shane, repeatedly teased her about having someone new in their podcast.
Coleen Nolan's new relationship and tattoos
The 61-year-old's partner is Ryan Brockbank, who works as an educational leader at a fashion college in London. Coleen made things Instagram-official by sharing a selfie with Ryan and simply captioning it "R" with a heart emoji. She is thought to have been dating him for a few months.
On the podcast, Coleen and Ciara discussed the post and the attention it attracted, during which the latter could not resist telling listeners about two tattoos her mother had inked. Ciara revealed that her mum has "R" tattooed on her chest, as well as another on her hand reading "Until the end".
Family reaction and approval
Coleen's daughter said her mother had shared pictures of her tattoos in the family group chat, which she claimed prompted a flurry of private messages between her and her siblings, including one which claimed she had "lost the plot". Despite the ribbing, Ciara made it clear she is on board with the relationship, saying she is genuinely pleased for her mother and is very fond of Ryan, who she referred to as "Ry Ry".
The mother-of-one did however admit that seeing Coleen being loved-up felt "weird", particularly as it was not with her father Ray Fensome, who the Loose Women star was married to from 2007 to 2018. Coleen went on to thank fans for their messages about her romance, adding: "I'm always on here moaning about trolls and social media being toxic and everything, but honestly, people's messages were fabulous, so thank you to everyone who messaged, I really appreciate it."
Support from co-stars and background
Ryan has also seemingly had the seal of approval from her Loose Women co-stars Jane Moore and Ruth Langsford. In the comments section under the pair's selfie, Jane wrote: "Yay! Hello Ryan - heard a lot about you over the past few months!" Ruth added: "Coleen & Ryan sitting in a tree! SO happy for you." Ryan is Coleen's first publicly known boyfriend since her split from Michael Jones last year, following a three-year relationship, which came after her divorce from her second husband. She was also previously married to Shane Richie, sharing sons Shane Nolan and Jack Roche with the actor. They married in 1990 and separated nine years later.
