Coleen Nolan's daughter has shared her true feelings about her mother's new relationship, while revealing a secret tattoo Coleen now shares with her new partner. Earlier this month, the Loose Women star confirmed she is dating Ryan Brockbank, an educational leader at a fashion college in London.
Podcast Discussion on Going Public
The 61-year-old posted a selfie with her man on Instagram, captioned "R" followed by a love heart. Her daughter Ciara called it a "hard launch." According to Loose Women co-star Jane Moore, the pair have been together for a few months.
On their podcast, Coleen and Ciara discussed the Instagram post and the reaction to it. Before that, Ciara revealed that her mum had made a huge decision by getting a tattoo featuring the first letter of Ryan's name.
Matching Tattoos and Family Reaction
As Coleen tried to shut down the conversation, her daughter jokingly sang: "It's matching with Ryan." Ciara went on to tell listeners that her mum also had a second tattoo inked on her hand reading: "Until the end."
"She sent it in the group chat and we all wanted to kill ourselves," Coleen's daughter said. "We were all texting each other privately going, 'Mum's lost the plot, she's lost her head'."
"I haven't though, I've just lost my heart," the Loose Women star replied, laughing, to which Ciara pretended to vomit.
Ciara's Support and Fans' Reactions
Ciara said she was "happy" for her mum, adding: "I love Ry Ry," though she joked that it was "weird" to see her mum loved-up with somebody new. Coleen thanked fans for their "lovely" messages in response to her news, which included comments from fellow Loose Women stars Ruth Langsford and Katie Piper.
"I'm always on here moaning about trolls and social media being toxic and everything, but honestly, people's messages were fabulous, so thank you to everyone who messaged, I really appreciate it," she said.
Ryan is Coleen's first publicly known partner since she split from Michael Jones last year after three years together. Their relationship came after her divorce from her second husband, Ciara's dad, Ray Fensome, who she was married to from 2007 to 2018. The singer was also previously married to Shane Richie, with whom she shares sons Shane Nolan and Jack Roche. They tied the knot in 1990, but called it quits nine years later.
