Coleen Nolan Admits She 'Can't Win' Against Internet Trolls Over Weight

Coleen Nolan has candidly revealed that she feels she simply "can't win" when it comes to dealing with internet trolls, despite her significant weight loss journey. The 60-year-old television personality, best known for her role on ITV's Loose Women, recently shed an impressive three and a half stone, reducing her dress size from a 20 to a 14.

From One Extreme to Another: The Unrelenting Criticism

In a heartfelt interview, Nolan explained that for years she endured vicious trolling about her larger figure, with social media users cruelly targeting her weight. "I tried to not let the trolls affect me, but it was hard when they were calling me fat and all these names, because those were things that I actually thought about myself," she confessed.

However, the bullying has not ceased with her transformation. "Now, people attack me for the opposite, claiming I've lost too much weight. I just can't win!" she lamented, highlighting the relentless and contradictory nature of online abuse.

A Healthier Outlook and Celebrity Support

Despite the negativity, Coleen remains determined not to let the trolls undermine her achievements. She even finds a silver lining in some comments, viewing mentions of her weight loss as a backhanded compliment, since she acknowledges she "needed to lose the weight." Her health kick has boosted her confidence significantly, and she has adopted a more balanced approach to her diet, allowing herself occasional treats in moderation.

When she recently shared glamorous photos from Spain on Instagram, showcasing her new figure, she was inundated with supportive messages from celebrity friends and fans alike. Her Loose Women co-star Katie Piper praised, "You look so beautiful can’t wait to watch this series," while Love Island's Amy Hart added, "You look amazing! Xx."

A Surprising U-Turn on Weight Loss Jabs

Coleen's journey took an unexpected turn when she became the new face of Voy, a company offering clinical weight loss solutions including Mounjaro and Wegovy jabs, as well as Orloz capsules and coaching. This marked a complete reversal from her previous stance, where she had openly expressed skepticism about weight loss medications, stating, "I don't believe in any of that."

Her concerns were initially heightened after her son Shane lost three stone using similar jabs, leading her to worry about potential long-term side effects. "I tend to worry that we are going to find side effects in a year—of what they cause or what they don’t cause," she admitted on Loose Women.

Nevertheless, those fears have since been alleviated, prompting her partnership with Voy. In an announcement video, Coleen reflected, "My weight has been such a major part of my life and the pressure of it has always been there. The dieting cycle has just always been exhausting."

Through it all, Coleen Nolan's story underscores the pervasive challenges of body image in the public eye and the harsh reality of social media trolling, regardless of one's physical transformation.
