Despite his frustration, he initially remained with ITV, covering lower-profile international fixtures and tournament games alongside Ally McCoist. His tenure ended during Euro 2024 when the network declined to offer a contract extension. His final match was the round of 16 tie between Germany and Denmark.
Matterface's Upcoming Assignment
Matterface is set to commentate on England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway in Miami, joined by former Arsenal and England defender Lee Dixon. The match will air live on ITV1 at 10pm, weather permitting, and stream on ITVX. England's previous knockout games against DR Congo and Mexico were broadcast by the BBC.
