Karen, a personality from Channel 4's Château DIY, has died suddenly, her family confirmed.
Family's Heartbreaking Announcement
IT specialist Clive and his wife Karen had long held ambitions of moving to France. The Channel 4 show, an offshoot from the original programme starring Dick and Angel Strawbridge, followed their journey of settling into a château with their university-aged daughter, Abbie.
Abbie and Clive have been left heartbroken as they paid tribute to their late mum and wife. Sharing the news on Instagram, they wrote: "It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news that our beautiful Mum has suddenly passed away. There are simply no words to describe the loss we feel."
A Legacy of Love and Warmth
They continued: "Mum wasn't just part of Château du Doux-she was its heart and soul. She poured so much love into this place, into our family, and into every couple and guest who walked through our doors."
"She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, cared for and at home, and her kindness and selfless personality touched so many lives."
The family asked for patience and understanding as they grieve, noting there may be delays in replying to messages. They expressed gratitude for the support received, saying: "Your compassion is carrying us through the darkest days."
They reassured all couples and guests that upcoming weddings and events will continue as planned, adding: "We know Mum would have wanted Château du Doux to remain full of love and celebration."
Channel 4's Tribute
A celebration of Karen's life took place on August 11 at their French home. The programme's social media channels also released a statement, saying: "Karen has been part of the Château DIY family since 2018, welcoming us into her home and sharing her life, stories and infectious warmth with us and with viewers around the world."
"It was a privilege to know and work with her. Karen brought so much joy to the series and was hugely loved by our viewers. She will be remembered with great affection by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her."
