Christine McGuinness has revealed how she and ex-husband Paddy McGuinness handle each other's new relationships following their 2022 split. The former couple, who share three children, have established boundaries around their respective love lives and no longer feel the need to keep each other informed.
No More Sharing
Speaking about their arrangement, Christine said: "We spoke about this after we separated – what are we comfortable with, how much did we want to share – because neither of us wants to wake up and find the other on the front page of a newspaper."
She added: "But it’s been three years now, I don’t need to know what he’s doing and he doesn’t need to know about me. It just stays outside the home."
No Dates at Home
Despite exploring new relationships, Christine insisted she would not bring a partner back to the family home she still shares with Paddy. "No way!" she told the Mail. "Even if I lived on my own it would be a long time before I took that step. I was messaging an amazing woman last year, and it took three months before I agreed to meet her for a date."
Christine has previously said she avoids dating apps, preferring to meet people through friends due to her public profile. She has been linked to singer and footballer Chelcee Grimes, with the pair pictured kissing in 2022. It was also reported that she had a fling with a soap actress in 2023, though the actress was not named.
No Second Wedding
Christine has ruled out marrying again, despite wanting a committed relationship. Asked if she could ever walk down the aisle, she replied: "No."
She explained: "I don’t mean I’m traumatised by marriage; I was just so young then. I didn’t understand how you’re legally tied to someone if you’re married. I want to be in a committed relationship, but I want the freedom to walk away."
Christine was 19 when she met Paddy, then 33, in 2007. They married in 2011 and welcomed twins Leo and Penelope in 2013, followed by daughter Felicity in 2016.
