In a remarkably honest revelation, Christine McGuinness has broken her silence about navigating life after her separation from television presenter husband Paddy McGuinness, describing the experience as unexpectedly "calm" and revealing her journey toward self-discovery.
A New Chapter Begins
The former couple, who married in 2011 and share three children - eight-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and five-year-old Felicity - announced their separation in 2022 after eleven years of marriage. Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Christine emphasises they remain united as a family.
"It's actually been really calm," Christine revealed during a candid discussion about the divorce proceedings. "There's no fighting, there's no arguing. We speak all the time, we're still a family."
Co-parenting Through Autism
The model and author, who recently joined the cast of Real Housewives of Cheshire, spoke openly about the unique challenges and rewards of co-parenting three autistic children. All three of their children have autism diagnoses, as does Christine herself, who was diagnosed as an adult.
"We've got three beautiful children and they are our absolute world," she shared. "Everything we do is for them. We're very much still a family, we're just not together as a couple."
Rediscovering Christine
Since the separation, Christine has been embracing her independence and learning more about herself outside of the relationship that defined much of her adult life. The 35-year-old has been focusing on her career and personal growth.
"I'm really enjoying being on my own," Christine confessed. "I'm learning a lot about myself. I think for the first time in a long time, I'm actually putting myself first, which is something I've never done before."
Looking Forward
While acknowledging the sadness that comes with the end of a marriage, Christine maintains a positive outlook on her future. She continues to work closely with autism charities and advocates for better understanding of neurodiversity.
"I'm excited for the future," she said. "I'm looking forward to what's to come and just taking each day as it comes."
The former couple continue to live near each other in Cheshire to facilitate their co-parenting arrangement, putting their children's wellbeing at the heart of all their decisions.
