Christine McGuinness has declared she will never marry again, despite embarking on a new romance. The model and TV personality, who divorced Paddy McGuinness in 2024 after an 11-year marriage, shared her views on her podcast Situationships with Sophie and Christine.
“I don’t think I’ll ever do it again,” she said. “That doesn’t mean it was a bad or negative thing. But I’ve done it and I’ve learned from it.” She described the divorce as “really, really tough” and said she wants to be “free as a bird” in future separations without legal ties.
However, she is open to a “big gay blessing” or wedding-like celebration, especially for same-sex couples, and would like to call a partner her “wife”. Christine also revealed she is in a “situationship” with a woman, adding: “My celibacy is over.”
She has told her new partner she does not want more children, as she already has three. “She knows I don’t want to be married, she knows I don’t want children,” Christine explained. “I’m not going to sugar coat it.”
The full episode of Situationships with Sophie and Christine is available on BBC Sounds from 5pm on Friday 20th March.
