Christine McGuinness has clarified that she is not dating Duncan James, following speculation sparked by a social media post. The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star had earlier teased a 'date' with a new man, leading fans to believe she had moved on from her estranged husband Paddy McGuinness.
In a video shared on Instagram, McGuinness explained that the 'date' was a joke with her friend, Duncan James. She said: 'It was my mate, Duncan's my friend, Duncan's got a gorgeous partner and I love them both. But yeah, I was only taking the p**s when I said I was on a date.' She added that she does not like dating and has no plans to do so.
The speculation arose after McGuinness posted a clip of herself waiting for her 'date' to arrive, followed by a photo with James captioned 'Buns and guns, planning with my soulmate'. James, who is openly gay, has been in a relationship with Brazilian photographer Rodrigo Reis since 2019.
McGuinness, who split from Paddy McGuinness last year, previously told the Mirror that she finds the idea of dating 'worse' as an autistic person. She said she prefers to get to know someone naturally, as she did with her ex-husband, rather than going on formal dates.
