Christopher Schwarzenegger reveals struggle behind dramatic weight loss

Christopher Schwarzenegger has spoken publicly for the first time about his dramatic weight loss, describing the process as a "big process" that has taken years of trial and error.

The 27-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver appeared at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles, where he confessed his weight had once held him back from everyday activities. "I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia," he said. "I made it a big deal like, 'Oh, I'm going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,' and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities."

He recalled wanting to go skydiving, only for friends to reject the idea. "I was like, 'I want to go skydiving.' And my friends were like, 'Yeah, no shot.'" He also admitted to feeling insecure at school, saying: "I tried everything. I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school."

Despite his transformation, Christopher insisted he does not yet view himself as an "after" in before-and-after photos. "It's not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day... I don't feel like I'm at the point."

His new look attracted attention in April 2025 when his sister Katherine shared a family photo on Instagram, and he was later photographed with relatives in Los Angeles over Easter. Away from the spotlight, he is believed to work as Director of Development at Indus Valley Media and serves as Vice Chair of the Special Olympics Founder's Council. His parents, Arnold and Maria, married in 1986 but separated in 2011.
