Cheryl Tweedy is planning her return to the limelight with a docuseries documenting her life, with streaming giants reportedly circling the project. The former X Factor judge and solo artist has been in early-stage talks with a production company, and if she signs, the series could trigger a bidding war among Netflix, Apple TV and Amazon.
A comeback after time away
Cheryl has spent recent years focusing on motherhood, stepping back from the spotlight. Now, she is said to be ready to tell her story. A source told The Sun: "Cheryl is incredibly picky about what she chooses to do these days and spends a lot of time on motherhood, but she feels like she has a story to tell."
From Girls Aloud to solo stardom
The proposed series would take viewers through Cheryl's career, beginning with her 2002 audition on Popstars: The Rivals, her rise as part of Girls Aloud, and her success as one of the UK's biggest solo artists. According to reports, the docuseries will not dwell on her personal life, including her marriages to footballer Ashley Cole and restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini. She was also linked to dancer Derek Hough and has a son, Bear, now nine, with the late One Direction star Liam Payne.
A growing trend of celebrity docuseries
If the project moves forward, Cheryl would join David and Victoria Beckham, Kylie, and Coleen Rooney, who have all fronted documentaries. Kate Moss is also rumoured to be considering her own docuseries, reportedly for Netflix.
A source told the same publication: "Although she is known for her "Never complain, never explain" approach to life, there are signs that she might now be willing to discuss her life in a way she never has before."
In Vogue: The 90s influence
The potential Kate Moss series follows the success of the Apple TV documentary In Vogue: The 90s, in which she opened up about her modelling career.
