Cheryl Returns to Spotlight with Nivea Campaign After Liam Payne Tragedy

Cheryl has made a triumphant return to the public eye with a new campaign for skincare brand Nivea, following the tragic death of her former partner Liam Payne. The 42-year-old pop star stars in a promotional video released today, marking her first major appearance after months out of the limelight.

The video shows Cheryl walking into a studio and sitting in front of the camera, playfully hiding her face behind a newspaper dated August 2025. A message reading 'A New Era, Tomorrow' appears, with Nivea teasing fans: 'This is right up our street. Tomorrow. 9am. A new era of skincare... guess who's joining us?'

Cheryl's return comes after the devastating loss of Liam Payne, who died in October after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. Despite separating in 2018, the couple remained close for the sake of their eight-year-old son Bear. Cheryl has since been appointed to manage Payne's £28.6 million estate, with plans to hold the money in trust for Bear until he turns 25.

In addition to the Nivea campaign, reports suggest Cheryl is in advanced talks to return to television as a guest mentor on The Voice. The former X Factor judge would team up with will.i.am for the Battle Rounds, which are set to air in early 2026. A source said: 'A lot has transpired in Cheryl's personal life... so she's taking baby steps to put herself back out there.'

Cheryl's public reappearance follows a terrifying stalker incident earlier this year, when convicted murderer Daniel Bannister repeatedly turned up at her home, leaving her concerned for her son's safety. Bannister has since been imprisoned.
