Charlotte Dawson speaks out on midnight NTAs 'row' with fiancé

Charlotte Dawson has spoken out after she and her fiancé Matt Sarsfield were reportedly seen arguing at the National Television Awards in London on Tuesday night. In a video posted to TikTok, the reality star explained that the disagreement stemmed from her wanting to continue the night out while Matt preferred to return to the hotel.

What Happened at the NTAs

According to reports, the couple, who attended the glamorous event together, were seen in a heated exchange. Charlotte, 33, addressed the speculation directly, saying: "Me and Matthew are in the paper for arguing because some pap was taking sneaking videos of us because I didn't want to go home and Matthew wanted to go back to the hotel."

She clarified that the situation was not serious, adding: "It was midnight, it was Cinderella time. And obviously, we did go home, and I'm very thankful for that even though I did have a couple of glasses when we did go back to the hotel. We have not fell out, we're best pals, we're lovers. We have not fallen out."

Background on the Couple

Charlotte, daughter of comedy legend Les Dawson, and Matt have been engaged since 2020. They share three children: Noah, five, Judge, three, and 18-month-old Gigi. The couple previously faced challenges when Charlotte was pregnant with their youngest, after Matt sent an explicit image to an acquaintance. At the time, friends said it was "unclear" whether their relationship would survive, but Charlotte stood by him.

In a previous interview with OK! magazine, Charlotte acknowledged the need to prioritise their relationship, saying: "We've had no date nights recently. We do need to prioritise us a bit more because we just haven't for a while. It's all about the kids right now. But when Noah starts school and we've got a proper routine, that's when I think our spark will start sparking again."

Wedding Plans on Hold

Charlotte has also spoken about their wedding plans, which remain on hold. She explained: "Maybe when it gets a bit easier with the kids. I'd love Gigi to walk down the aisle in a little dress, so I think I might have to wait. I'm gonna have to anyway. I can't start planning a wedding now – Jesus, I can't even sort my own life out."
