Video footage shows Theron greeting French businessman Bernard Arnault and Brigitte Macron, wife of President Emmanuel Macron, with kisses as she arrived. Depp was standing nearby, seemingly waiting to say hello, but Theron moved past him without acknowledgment, creating a tense atmosphere.
Online account Women's Wear Daily shared the clip, captioning it: 'Charlize Theron ignoring Johnny Depp (whom she worked with on The Astronaut) at the Dior fashion show.' The outlet also noted that Theron had previously 'liked' an article critical of Depp's comeback after his defamation case.
Depp, 62, appeared unfazed and was later seen smiling with Brigitte Macron. The actor has been making a slow return to the spotlight following a turbulent period, including a 2020 UK libel case that labelled him a 'wife beater' and led to him being dropped from major film franchises. He won a defamation case against Amber Heard in 2022 but acknowledged the damage to his reputation.
Depp has since relocated to a secluded country mansion in East Sussex, where locals describe him as a 'really nice, down-to-earth bloke.' His new look includes long grey hair, a bushy beard, and bright blue contact lenses. He is set to appear in the French film Jeanne du Barr and a project called Day Drinker.
